Expectations and Opportunities

Once officially accepted and enrolled as a Stamps Ensemble Scholar at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, your musical life will broaden and grow deeper. You will interface with new colleagues that will become lifelong friends. You will share the stage in incredible performances with both your Stamps Distinguished Ensemble as well as the outstanding large ensembles of the Frost School of Music.  You will be groomed for musical leadership roles both at Frost in the music world at large.

The Frost School of Music and the University of Miami have a code of conduct for all students, which Stamps Ensemble Scholars are expected to adhere to at all times. Stamps Ensemble Scholars are role models for younger students, and represent the entire Frost School of Music when they perform at special functions throughout the community.

In addition, the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation often hosts special local, regional and national events such as the Stamps Scholars National Convention (SSNC). All Stamps Ensemble Scholars are expected to attend. The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation provides funding for the cost of the convention, including transportation and hotel. These gatherings provide highly enjoyable social and networking opportunities and leadership training sessions with other Stamps Scholars from around the country, and are usually hosted by participating universities. Stamps Ensembles Scholars participate in all sessions and are also often invited to perform.
