Major: Instrumental Performance Instrument: French Horn Profile: Xinrae Cardozo is a French horn player from Carrollton, Texas. She studied privately throughout high school with Mrs. Karen Houghton and was selected to be a part of the Texas Music Education Association’s All-State for four years. She attended Hebron High School and performed with the Wind Symphony at the Midwest Clinic in 2016, the American Bandmasters Association in 2018, and has also performed with the Hebron Marching Band from 2016-2019. She has performed with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra for the 2019-20 season, and the GDYO Philharmonic for the 2018-19 season. Xinrae has played under conductors such as Carl St. Clair, Steven D. Davis, Eric Wilson, and Jerry Junkin.
Major: Instrumental Performance Instrument: Tuba Profile: Antony Hook, a tuba player hailing from Fort William, Scotland, is a member of the Stamps Brass Quintet in the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and studies under Dr. Aaron Tindall. Antony’s musical journey started relatively late when he began playing tuba at the age of 14 under the tutelage of Mark Reynolds. After finding the tuba he progressed quickly and began to play in both regional and national youth ensembles such as the National Youth Wind Ensemble of Scotland and the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, culminating in two years as principal tuba of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland Symphony Orchestra. Also, an avid chamber musician Antony has immersed himself in various chamber music settings, performing with various brass quintets and other brass ensembles throughout Scotland. Antony’s main aspersion is to become a professional orchestral tuba player in the future.
Outside of music Antony is a huge motorsport fan and a keen cyclist and enjoys spending time on his bike in the mountains surrounding his home town of Fort William.
Major: Instrumental Performance Instrument: Trumpet Profile: Terri Rauschenbach is under the tutelage of Craig Morris at the Frost School of Music. She performs with the Palm Beach Symphony under Maestro Gerard Schwarz and the Florida Grand Opera. Terri spent two summers studying with Chris Gekker at the Eastern Music Festival and was recently a Fellow at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Terri began her studies with Dr. Jared Hunt. She enjoys vegan cooking, reading, and spending time with her cat, Pickle.
Major: Instrumental Performance Instrument: Trumpet Profile: Ethan Revere is a Trumpet player from Asheville, North Carolina. He has been playing the Trumpet since the sixth grade. Ethan has been playing with the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Asheville High School bands and has studied with Brian Garland since the eighth grade. He is a Brevard Music Institute alumni and a winner in both Hendersonville Symphony and Asheville Symphony concerto competitions in addition to participating in various regional and state ensembles.
Outside of music, Ethan enjoys cooking and hiking in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
After school, Ethan wants to play Trumpet professionally in an orchestra.
Major: Instrumental Performance Instrument: Trombone Profile: Ian Wolff, a trombonist from Jacksonville, Florida, will be attending the Frost School of Music as a performance major and as a member of the Stamps Brass Quintet. He began playing trombone at age eleven in the sixth grade and has had a diverse musical experience attending high school at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida, performing in jazz ensembles, wind ensembles, symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, and a pit orchestra for the production of the musical Guys and Dolls under the direction of Ted Shistle III and Don Zentz. He has been the principal trombone of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra for four years and principal trombone of the First Coast Youth Orchestra for one year under the direction of Scott Greg and Deanna Tham. While in high school, Ian has performed at the Midwest Clinic with the Douglas Anderson Wind Symphony in 2016 and the Douglas Anderson Jazz Ensemble I in 2018, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival with the Douglas Anderson Jazz Ensemble I in 2018, and the Music For All National Festival with the Douglas Anderson Wind Symphony as a featured high school ensemble in 2020. He has also performed in the Florida Allstate Middle School Jazz Band in the 7th and 8th grades, the Florida Allstate Concert Band in the 9th grade, and the Florida Allstate Symphony Orchestra in the 11th and 12th grades. Ian has studied with Christopher Banks, Shawn Barat, Louis Bremer, and Ben Walsh, and is looking forward to studying with Professor Tim Connor at the Frost School of Music. Outside of music, Ian enjoys cycling, mountain biking, and playing billiards.
