Students in Stamps Distinguished Ensembles are encouraged to explore summer performance and study opportunities abroad and special residencies with notable artists to broaden their musical horizons.

Stamps Distinguished Ensembles often audition for summer residency programs or apply to perform at festivals, under the supervision of a faculty mentor. For example, the Stamps Jazz Quintet has performed at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival. The Stamps String Quartet auditioned and was invited to attend a residency program with the Juilliard String Quartet; they have also performed twice in Italy at summer music festivals. The Stamps Woodwind Quintet participated in a summer residency program with Imani Winds.

Expenses for all these enrichment opportunities are often split by the Frost School of Music and the Stamps Scholars Program.
